Cranberry Herba Buena Fizz (recipe and pictures to come)
Acorns, (yaná in the Takelma language) are a highly nutritious nut often overlooked in Euro-Western diets. Acorn flour is becoming easier to find. You can make it at home, but I get mine at the local farmers market.
This heartily textured, lightly sweet dessert fits the themes and nuances of the novel! Made with warm, comforting spices, eggs, sweet maple syrup, and nutty acorn flour, it’s perfect with whipped cream and a latte.
